Visualizations

Since my diagnosis, I have modified my Buddhist meditation slightly to incorporate a healing attribute. In the early days of my illness, I dropped my "belly breath" down to my bladder. When I breath in, I think to myself, "Breathing in I am healing myself." When I breath out I think to myself, "I am clear of cancer.". If I am breathing a short breath, I sometimes abbreviate these to, "Healing" on the in breath and "Clear" on the out breath. I also visualized the elimination and conversion of the cancer cells on the floor of my bladder being eliminated. All of these amount to what I call "short-term" visualizations.

For mid-range visualizations, I utilize my tennis game. I see myself swinging the racket again and playing with my favorite partners. Next summer and fall, I see myself entering the summer and fall tours at Boyle Park.

I also see myself attending my daughter's graduation on June 13. She has been going to the same Montesori-based school since she was twenty months old! Graduations at this school are extremely touching and now R. will graduate. I'm really looking forward to how proud I'll be that R. is graduating. I probably won't be able to get through the ceremony without crying!

For long range goals, I see my other daughter's graduation in June of 1998. I am also looking forward to the marriage of my son someday. I also want to see a book made of all of these web pages. I see people reading the book and becoming more involved in their treatment, which always enhances the chances for healing.
