CIS-PLATINUM THERAPY
-Patient Suggestions-
1. Drink 3 to 4 quarts of fluids (water, soups, juices, flavored gelatins, Gatorade or club soda) during the 24 hours before therapy and for at least 2 to 3 days after treatment.
2. Avoid strenuous exercise the day before, the day of, and the day after treatment. This will help you maintain your energy level and help avoid dehydration.
3. Eat a light meal on the morning of treatment. Avoid spicy or fatty foods.
4. Wear loose, comfortable clothing - stretchable waistbands, comfortable shoes and no constricting jewelry.
5. Bring a light snack or lunch if you wish.
6. You may wish to have a family member or fiiend drive you to and from your treatment session.
7. Avoid heavy, spicy foods; small, light meals are the best.
8. Follow prescribed medication schedule and other instructions at home after treatment.
